Polyvinyl co-founder Matt Lunsford featured on Vice‘s Rank Your Records

Polyvinyl Records is based right here in Champaign-Urbana, and co-founder Matt Lunsford was featured on Vice‘s Rank Your Records column. Dan Ozzi interviews Lunsford as he goes down the rabbit hole of PV releases, listing 10 records in the label’s history that stood out to him. Here’s what he lists:

10. Rainer Maria’s Look Now Look Again (1999)

9. Jay Som’s Turn Into (2016)

8. Volcano, I’m Still Excited!!’s Volcano, I’m Still Excited!! (2004)

7. Braid’s Frame & Canvas (1998)

6. of Montreal’s Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? (2007)

5. American Football’s American Football (1999)

4. Grapetooth’s Grapetooth (2018)

3. STRFKR’s Being No One, Going Somewhere (2016)

2. Alvvays’ Alvvays (2014)

1. Japandroid’s Celebration Rock (2012)

I must use this as an opportunity to bring this back to the surface: Lunsford crowd-surfing at SXSW a few years back. Oh, and here’s an interview we did with him back in 2015.
