Davenport-Pleasure invites you to an evening filled with poetry, movement, and plenty of heart. She is a multi-talented poet, spoken word performer, avid dancer, and a jewelry and recycled clothing designer. Davenport-Pleasure was selected as the 2020 Artist Ace Awards winner and also founded Cinderella/Cinderfella, a ballroom dance troupe for children. She also served as the 2022-2023 Poet Laureate of Urbana. This year, she will release her fourth book of poetry. Ja Nelle strives to help people of all ages express themselves creatively through writing, spoken word, music, dance, and other art forms.
