Cunningham Township, in partnership with Urbana Free Library, Channing-Murray Foundation, and Common Ground Food Co-op is hosting their annual Enoch Miller Sr. warm winter gear donation drive.
They are looking for gently used (or new) coats, jackets, hats, mittens, and gloves, as well as new socks to help the people they serve everyday stay warm this winter. From a Cunningham Township Facebook post this morning:
This morning a young man experiencing homelessness came to our office asking for help. This man spent last night trying to stay out of the rain. As he was leaving, he took off his winter coat to give to a young woman (also experiencing homelessness) who had just arrived.
Donations can be dropped off at several locations:
