This is huge, people. We’ve already covered John Milas’ 2023 debut novel The Militia House here and here. But now, ladies and gents, it’s up for a Shirley Jackson Award. Named for one of the masters of suspense, horror, and psychological nuance, Shirley Jackson’s Haunting of Hill House and her short story “The Lottery” are classics that most of you read (or were assigned to read) in school. Milas’s The Militia House comes out in paperback on July 9th. For more on Milas, check out his author website. And you can, of course, find his book in all the regular book places, as well as at The Literary.
