Urbana Park District is hosting the 55th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning at Crystal Lake Park, if you’re looking to get some exercise before all the eating and lounging.
Parking is available in the special event lot on Broadway Avenue, and check in begins at 8 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m. This is a fun run/walk, and it’s just one mile long. It’s free to participate, but they will be taking donations for the Urbana Parks Foundation. Your donations help the park district offer reduced summer camp rates for kids.
You’ll get some free hot chocolate, and even a ribbon if you are one of the first 800 across the finish line!
