Gaming and drinks on tap at Stix Arcade Bar

For the past couple of years, friends Justin Taylor and Wayne Green have been quietly preparing the launch of their arcade bar in Champaign, collecting retro games and scouting out potential locations. Green, a retro video game collector and Taylor, the proprietor of JT Walker’s in Mahomet, combined their expertise to create the increasingly popular mashup on Walnut Street in Downtown Champaign. When Crudo Wine Bar closed earlier this year, it was the signal the duo needed to go ahead with their vision: Stix Arcade Bar. The setup includes 15 original cabinet games, three pinball machines, and four gaming consoles on 65” televisions, in addition to a full bar. The location will also offer beer and liquor to-go and will fill growlers.

Stix had a soft opening this past week and will be hosing a grand opening Saturday, February 15th at 3 p.m. with live DJs starting at 10 p.m. Watch the video below for a sneak peek at the bar and the unique experience it will bring to downtown.
