Thirsty Thursday: Cucumber gimlet at Farren’s Pub

This Thursday, I’m thirsty for the cucumber gimlet at Farren’s Pub. I’ve been craving something cold and refreshing with this week’s warm spring weather, and yesterday, I ordered the Downtown Champaign restaurant’s thirst-quenching cucumber gimlet ($9). Made with botanical cucumber-mint vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup, the bevvy was a refreshing tall glass of a bubbly (spiked) cucumber water. The drink had a deliciously strong cucumber flavor with a little tart, citrusy finish. It was giving spa cocktail, and I loved it.

This weekend is Ebertfest, so in between films, sip a cucumber gimlet (or any of Farren’s cocktails, mocktails, or draft Cloud Mountain) on the patio in Downtown Champaign. For more about the bar, read Paul’s interview with a Farren’s bartender who also loves the cucumber gimlet, and as for what to eat at the pub, check out Caitlin’s full review of the food.
