Songs for Scooter: Local Bands Play to Give Two-Legged Cat New Wheels

Scooter lost his two hind legs as a result of unspeakable abuse. But thanks to the volunteers at CATSNAP (Champaign-Area Trap Spay/Neuter and Adoption Program); he is recovering well under the care of his foster family.  And, on Saturday, February 23, five local bands will perform at Mike-n-Molly’s to raise funds for the prosthetic wheels which will help increase Scooter’s  mobility and his chances for adoption.

CATSNAP frequently fosters and provides medical care for special needs cats and dogs, many of whom go on to find their “forever” homes. “Scooter’s story is bittersweet,” says event organizer Dave Domal. “He has suffered terribly.  But when you watch the video his foster family posted of him playing on a scratch post, his resiliency is so inspiring.  Hopefully, we can help him get the happy ending he deserves.”

“Songs for Scooter” will run from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am.

Gloria Roubal and Paul Sabuco with Dawna Nelson will open the show at 8:30 pm, followed by Evil Tents at 9:20, Steakmen at 10:10, Susie and the Shy Guys at 11:00 and The Acme Principle at 11:50 pm.

Mike and Molly’s is located at 105 N Market Street in Downtown Champaign.
