Revolting indie film sneak peek on Wed., Oct. 21

Just passing along some information about a locally-made feature called “Revolting” that will be shown at the Lucy Ellis Lounge, ground floor of the Foreign Language Building, UIUC, 707 S. Mathews Ave, Urbana, this coming Wednesday, October 21, starting at 7 p.m.

Film will be a special “sneak preview” sponsored by Champaign Movie Makers as part of the group’s monthly meeting. Attendees will be asked to fill out comment forms so that the director, Mike Boedicker of Danville (who will introduce the film), can use the feedback to improve the film, which is currently in post production. Boedicker expects to finish the final cut in early 2010 and submit to film festivals after that.

This is the first opportunity that the general public will have to see the film, and probably the only time until mid-2010. It is about a playwright (played by Bill Kephart of Tolono) who is talked into writing a sequel to his only hit play, “The Madcap Murderesses,” which he loathes for multiple reasons. Unfortunately, the main characters of the original play materialize and make their creator’s life a living hell. The movie also stars Julia Megan Sullivan, Leslie Boedicker, and Sharon Tipsword of Danville, and Eric Sizemore of Champaign. If rated, “Revolting” would probably be the equivalent of a hard PG-13 for language and adult situations.

Please come out to see “Revolting” and encourage more local-film presentations on the University of Illinois campus. Admission is free and refreshments will be available after the meeting. Members of the press are welcome to attend.
