Red Bicycle Ice Cream opens for the season on April 21st -

Red Bicycle Ice Cream will open for the season on Friday, April 21st.

After a successful first summer, the ice cream shop went into winter hibernation with promises to open again this May. Perhaps Red Bicycle was inspired to open early because other frozen dessert purveyors open for the season this month, and there will be a whole lot of people in town for the Illinois Marathon. Reasons are not important — but getting ice cream as soon as possible is.

April hours are weekends only: April 21st and 22nd; 28th and 29th, 3 to 9 p.m. An added bonus this season: vegan gelato. More info is available on Facebook.
