Nick Offerman returning to U of I for Japan House fundraiser

He’s back! Parks and Recreation star and University of Illinois graduate, Nick Offerman, returns to U of I for the Japan House fundraiser on October 26th.

Offerman, commonly known to the public as Ron Swanson, holds Japan House near and dear to his heart. As stated in the News Bureau, Offerman made his first donation to the Japan House just one week after seeing it for the first time. “He was truly taken by this place”,Jennifer Gunji-Ballsrud said, director of Japan House. To continue his support for Japan House, Offerman is bringing his “American Ham Tour” to Krannert Center of the Performing Arts on October 26th.

To those interested in seeing his performance, tickets go on sale starting at 10 a.m. Monday, September 23rd at the Krannert Center. For U of I, tickets are $10, and for the rest off the general public, tickets are $30. On top of Offerman’s performance, he is also planning on co-hosting an “East Meets Midwest” fundraiser dinner at Prairie Fruits Farm in Champaign on Sunday, October 27th. To attend the dinner, tickets are available by calling Japan House at 217-244-9934, and are $325 per person. Since there are only forty-five total seats available for the dinner, if you are interested, call soon because it is only so long before they’re all sold out.
