Today is Giving Tuesday, developed as a response to the consumerism of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc. Here’s a great giving opportunity that gives immediate help to kids locally.
Krannert Center is hosting their annual winter clothing drive to collect coats and other items for students in Champaign Unit 4 and Urbana District 116. They are collecting now through December 14th. Here’s the info from their website:
Drop off new or gently used coats, mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and ear muffs for Champaign and Urbana children at this season’s clothing drive. There is a special need this year for large and extra-large coats for middle school boys. All collected items will go to the Champaign Unit 4 School District and Urbana School District 116. Donation boxes will be available in the Lobby, near Intermezzo cafe.
