Illini Volleyball team member Allison Palmer has organized a food drive to benefit the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. This event will be held during the home match vs Northwestern at Huff on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Food They Can Take
According to their website, the Eastern Illinois Foodbank welcomes food donations of all sizes. Their “Super Six” list is what they need most:
- Canned meats
- Canned complete meals (ravioli, SpaghettiOs, etc.)
- Canned beans and other vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Boxed meals
- Peanut butter
They also accept toiletries, cleaning products and pet food.
Food They Can’t Take
NO open cans, bags, containers, bottles etc. of food. All donated food must be in its original form. NO homemade food, please (No matter how delicious). NO food in glass containers.
There will be collection boxes at Huff for canned food and potentially canisters for monetary donations, too.
