Have you been to Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts?

While we have a robust theater and performing arts scene here in C-U, you can also travel just a bit beyond this area to find even more viewing opportunities. Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is a lovely venue just 45-50 minutes from here that offers a nice mix of music, dance, comedy, and kids’ offerings.

It’s a beautful building that was once the Bloomington Scottish Rite Temple — a space that brought in various performances but was also a ballroom and event space (it was the site of my prom…a while ago). I’ve seen a few shows there and it’s large enough to be able to bring in a crowd for an act, but it still feels intimate and there’s not a bad seat in the house.
