Rattle the Stars, an organization to mental health support and awareness, is organizing Porrima, an art showcase for understanding mental illness and suicide. Local artists and performers can help by donating their talents and work, while all members of the community are invited to volunteer time to help this important cause.
A special invitation goes out to “people who have been affected by mental illness and suicide (personally or by a loved one) to showcase their artistic expressions of their feelings and experiences.”
The show is open to artists and performers of all genres, ages and levels of experience. Submissions for performances must be submitted by September 22th. Visual art submissions are due by October 6th. The showcase will take place on October 19th at the SoDo Theatre in Downtown Champaign.
