On January 18th, Urbana-Champaign Books to Prisoners is hosting a Freedom Book Drive in honor of the MLK Jr. Day of Service.
They are asking for donations of books with themes of Black freedom struggles and movements, African American art, culture, and politics, and by African American novelists. They’ve compiled an Amazon wish list with recommended titles. If you purchase from the wish list you can have the books shipped directly to the organization. Otherwise, they will be at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center between 1 and 3 p.m. for curbside drop-offs.
Paperback books are preferred, and they can be new or used in very good condition.
