Druids, Shazu, Terminus Victor

Druids hail from Des Moines, Iowa, and they headline this heavy ass bill at Blackbird. Shazu is the project by Teddy Lerch from ZXO with the help of Sam Geneser from Dry Look, and Garrick Nelson (also of ZXO, and various other projects in C-U).

Falbonauts, Revelator, Ryan Groff, Kristina Schneman

► Loose Cobra // cover // 8 p.m.

Kenna Mae of Revelator is celebrating a birthday on Friday night, and the band is releasing their first album at the Cobra. They’ll be joined by some friends — Kristina Schneman, and Ryan Groff of Elsinore — and this show is headlined by Falbonauts. This kicks off an awesome weekend at the Loose Cobra.

SATURDAY, September 1st

Chet Kingery Memorial Bluegrass Festival

► Downtown Champaign // free // 7 p.m.

The Dry Look, Tractor Kings, Ghoul Jr, SM Wolf

► Loose Cobra // cover // 8 p.m.

The show of the week hits on Saturday at the Cobra — if you’re not too torn up from the previous night at the Loose Cobra, head out for this four band bill headlined by the Dry Look. They’re supported by alt-country staples Tractor Kings, fuzz punk outfit Ghoul Jr, and SM Wolf.

Kilborn Alley

The local blues legends Kilborn Alley Blues Band hits Cobra for the third show of the weekend out in Tolono. They’ve been fairly active as of late playing shows around town, but perhaps you took it easy this weekend and want to use that energy saved throughout the weekend on this one?
