Ghouls at the Ghost Planet in Urbana

Ghost Planet is a local DIY space for music. This past weekend they hosted a “band lotto” in which people were selected at random to be in a band together and perform for 15 minutes each. All participants put their names in music instruments and then they were drawn one by one to create this line up:

  • Ketchup ‘N The Fry
  • Hidden Gravity
  • Buckets
  • Basic
  • Fruit Knife
  • Jan Michael & The Vincents
  • Phantom Limb

Donations were taken at the door to raise money for The Up Center Of Champaign County, a multi-service agency, for youth and adults, that supports and promotes human care, educational, and community-building activities directed at furthering the well-being and development of the LGBTQ community. The event raised over $300 for the Up Center.

Check out some of the photos from the show and always, support the Up Center.

This is the first sign you see when you walk down into the basement.

The basement was packed.

Below, Jan Michael & The Vincents, described as indie emo meets surf punk.

People were wearing their gear.

Fruit Knife, a post-punk group.

And drinking BYOB.

A set list.

Basic kicks out some jams.

Some Ghost Planet signs hung around the basement.

Buckets

An Aquabats symbol perhaps?
